Incentive Type Transferable tax credit
Incentives Highlights 35% transferable tax credit of qualified expenses in the state. Out-of-state cast and crew qualify at 30%.
Eligible Projects Films, television pilots, series, and commercials
Minimum Spend $50,000 for programs less than 30 minutes, $100,000 for programs longer than 30 minutes.
Production Cap or Annual Cap Annual program cap of $4.5M. Per hire cap of up to $1M. If anyone receives more than $1 million, none of their payment qualifies.
Application/Reporting Requirements Projects must apply prior to opening a local production office, and Dept. reviews economic impact. The state charges a fee of 2.5% of tax credits awarded. A producer may receive credits for only one project per year. E-Verify is required.

Missouri offers a 35% transferable tax credit of qualified expenses incurred in the state with an annual cap of $4.5 million.

The Missouri Film Commission was not funded in the current budget, and the office has been shuttered. The Missouri Department of Economic Development is administering the incentives program.
